Followers Myth
I made my first sale with less than a thousand followers. A post with 100 views pulled a buyer. Nothing about those numbers matched what I had been told I needed.
The advice is always build the audience first. I held onto that rule like it was protecting me from something.
That logic isn't completely wrong. A bigger audience means more people in the room. But it's not the threshold it's made out to be, and understanding why changes how you spend your time.
Social media runs on interest now, not broadcast reach. The platform shows people content tied to what they've already been searching for. Someone looking up how to make extra money is going to see content about making extra money.
They don't have to follow you first. The algorithm already knows what they want.
That's why a post with 100 views can still pull a buyer. That person wasn't browsing my profile. They were looking for something specific, and the content matched what they were searching for.
Follower count has nothing to do with whether the right person finds it.
What determines whether someone buys is simpler than the advice suggests. A product that solves a real problem and content the person with that problem will stop scrolling for. Those two things, and the platform handles the rest.
Most people are waiting to get big enough to be discovered. The ones making sales got specific enough to be found.
