Three Phases

There are 3 phases every creator goes through. Most people quit in phase 2 because they don't know phase 3 exists.

I almost did too.

Phase 1 is motivation.

You're posting every day, every idea feels like a winner, and you've convinced yourself this is finally the time. It's the best phase. It's also the most dangerous, because everything you feel in phase 1 is temporary.

Phase 2 is the dip.

The motivation wears off. The numbers feel small. You've been at this for a few months and the growth doesn't match what you imagined when you started.

Most people leave here. They think the dip means they chose wrong, when really the dip just means they're in the middle.

Phase 3 is when the system starts working.

You've stopped running on how you feel about it. You've built enough of a routine that it runs without you having to decide to do it every single morning.

The numbers start moving. You look up and realize the work has been accumulating in ways you couldn't see while you were inside it.

Someone thanked me recently for "blazing the trail" for them. I've been on Threads 8 months, made products, taught other creators, kept showing up.

That person wasn't around in phase 1. They found me in phase 3.

You could be inspiring people right now and not even know it. The ones watching you aren't the people who showed up when you felt good about it. They showed up because you kept going anyway.

We keep waiting for that phase 1 feeling to come back. It doesn't work like that.

What's actually missing is a system that runs when the feeling is gone. Phase 1 gets you started. Phase 3 is where you stay.

Most creators are waiting for motivation to carry them through.

The ones who make it built something to carry them instead.
