Losing Followers
I got an email from a subscriber last week. They said my daily emails were "too much." They'd prefer one a week to preserve their bandwidth.
I read it, thought about it for about two seconds, and went back to my daily schedule.
The people who leave when you start sounding like yourself were never going to buy from you anyway.
I understand the discomfort. When someone tells you your content is too much, the instinct is to wonder if they're right.
Maybe you're posting too much. Maybe more people feel this way.
But pull back and you end up writing for the person who was already on their way out.
Your content is supposed to filter people out. Every time someone leaves because you got more specific, more yourself, the ones who stay are more aligned with what you actually solve.
That's the mechanism.
That subscriber loved the content. They just wanted a version of me that fit their schedule better.
I'm not that. And when they leave, the list gets better.
Most people are still adjusting to keep people around who will never buy.
The ones making sales stopped asking permission to sound like themselves.
If you've been watching and wondering whether this could actually work for you, it's less than $100 to find out. The Lunch Break Business Starter Kit is built for exactly where you are right now. Come figure it out with us. [add product link]
